Paint is infinite and baffling, and allows people to talk without words. It is surprisingly simple, yet no material in nature has its power to restore. Through the centuries it survives

  • biographical information

When I was little my family lived on a small farm, with animals, including a hundred head of sheep. In my five-year old mind, this was exquisite.

Later our family moved to Wisconsin, near the upper peninsula of Michigan. This was another outdoor existence, with acres of pines and many lakes for swimming, boating, spotting wildlife, climbing trees, and general exploring.

An interim of 32 years of lifes ups and downs passed before the author was reconnected with her former classmate. She found employment in his state of Tennessee as an antique piano action technician, restoring the inside mechanisms of antique upright pianos. Soon after Rob and Carrie married.

After taking their honeymoon to their home region, they decided to make their home further north in the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan, where there is the "world's cleanest air" and Lake Superior.
